…from two different west and east coast launches!

The first untethered maned hot air balloon flight was performed by two French men in Paris France on November 21st 1783 and 178 years later rockets have taken humans to the moon, rovers to Mars and now the 99th SpaceX Falcon 9 booster landing and recovery on (ASOG) A Shortfall of Gravitas on December 18th 2021.

Turksat5B built by Airbus Space is a telecommunications & broadcasting service satellite weighing 9,900 pounds (4,500 kg) and will be the strongest satellite for the Turkey government to date with a 15 year life expectancy.

SpaceX has set many new records with the 25th straight consecutive first stage Falcon 9 booster landings and now the 99th booster landing out of 110 attempts. A truly remarkable feat for this company and its corner stone goal of greater re-useability.

This is also SpaceX 30th Falcon 9 launch in 2021 and one more is remaining which is CRS-24 with Cargo Dragon carrying NASA’s resupply mission to the ISS and many new science investigations on December 21st to finish out the year.

Within 15 hours from each other SpaceX also launched at 7:41 AM EST Starlink 4-4 with booster B-1051.11 from Vandenberg California and then at 10:58 PM EST they launched the Turksat5B mission with booster B-1067.3 from Cape Canaveral Florida. A truly impressive feat by this company and their teams including both first stage boosters safely recovered on drown ships in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

An other impressive launch by all the teams at SpaceX, Airbus Space, Turkey and Space Launch Delta 45 from Cape Canaveral Florida at 10:58 PM EST on 12-18-21 Launch Complex SLC-40.
