Iberia’s chairman, Javier Sánchez-Prieto, recognised yesterday, at a master’s class at the ENAIRE Campus as part of the Master’s in Air Navigation Management Services, that “the good work of ENAIRE and the quality and efficiency of the services it provides to Iberia have not only helped the sector to recover, but Iberia to once again be the most punctual airline in Europe in 2022”.

Recently, the Network Director of EUROCONTROL (the European Air Traffic Network Manager), Iacopo Prissinotti, also sent a letter to ENAIRE’s CEO in which he congratulated the national air navigation service provider for “the exceptional performance of his professionals during the summer”.

Javier Sánchez-Prieto’s participation focused on explaining to the students, who specialise in aeronautical activity, the lessons learned by the airline during the pandemic.

“We managed to emerge from the worst crisis in the sector and we must be proud of what was achieved in 2022”. These are the words of Iberia’s chairman, for whom “2023 is a year full of uncertainties and we must be prudent”.

Javier Sánchez-Prieto holds a degree in Economics and Business Studies from the Universidad Complutense, and in Aeronautical Technical Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He was the Chairman and CEO of Vueling between 2016 and 2020. In September 2020, he joined Iberia as its Chairman and CEO.

ENAIRE’s CEO, Ángel Luis Arias, welcomed and thanked Sánchez-Prieto for taking part in the ENAIRE Campus, and especially for his words of appreciation of the service that ENAIRE provides to IBERIA.

University Master’s Degree

ENAIRE, together with the Universidad Politécnica and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), and in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), is offering a specialised and unique training programme in air navigation services management, backed by its experience and solid knowledge of the sector.

ENAIRE’s Master’s Degree in Air Navigation Services Management is currently certified by the ICAO’s TRAINAIR PLUS programme.

The goal of the Master’s degree is to give candidates the specialised technical, operational and management skills needed to gain a broad understanding of air navigation services and the challenges facing the sector.

The programme is aimed at management by combining knowledge and actual case studies, with a focus on strategy and the development of the management and decision-making skills needed to solve problems in a complex and constantly changing sector. In this regard, the master classes, such as the one given by Iberia’s chairman, provide a high added value to the academic training received by the students.

This Master’s is mainly intended for ENAIRE professionals, international service providers and other organisations in the sector: airlines, airport managers, regulators and supervisors, military authorities, weather service providers, as well as the technology industry, consultants and university graduates interested in the sector.

The characteristics of the participants are conducive to business networking and, as they share their experiences, the students will gain a detailed picture of the sector.
